Cardinals All-Star 1B Paul Goldschmidt registers 1,000th career RBI
St. Louis Cardinals' first baseman Paul Goldschmidt has reached another career milestone.
On Saturday against the Cincinnati Reds, Goldschmidt registered the 1,000th RBI of his career, knocking Tyler O'Neil home with a single in the top of the third inning.
Reaching 1,000 RBI is the second historical mark Goldschmidt has achieved this season. On July 16, also against the Reds, Goldschmidt socked his 300th career home run.
Goldschmidt becomes the 10th active MLB player to reach 1,000 career RBI.
The 34-year-old received his first all-star nod as a Cardinal this season. Goldschmidt is batting .331/.414/.596 with 21 home runs and 72 RBI in 91 games for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals acquired Goldschmidt in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2018 in exchange for Carson Kelly, Luke Weaver and Andrew Young.
Goldschmidt has posted 92 home runs and 289 RBI in four seasons in St. Louis, batting .290/.374/.512 over 468 games.
