Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa is looking forward to a bounce-back year.

The star shortstop slumped in the first year of his mega deal with the Twins, slashing .230/.312/.399 in 2023. All were career lows for the two-time All-Star as Correa limped his way to 18 home runs and 65 RBI while striking out 131 times, the second-highest total in his career.

Due to his down 2023, Correa came in at No. 78 in ESPN's top-100 players rankings. He was joined by pitcher Pablo Lopez (No. 55) as the only Twins to make the list.

"That's going to change for next year," Correa said this week when asked about his ranking.

ESPN's baseball expert Jesse Rogers said of Correa: "He'll always have decent power for a shortstop and at 28 years old, there's still a chance for a huge year, but he's mostly just a good player and a leader on a team that needs him to be."

Correa is hitting .333 in 18 at-bats with two RBI and four strikeouts this spring.

The Twins open the season March 28 at Kansas City.
