The Chicago Cubs are coming off a demolition of the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday Night with a 16-0 win, thanks to Carson Kelly’s two home runs, along with contributions from Michael Busch, Miguel Amaya, and Kyle Tucker, to name a few. The Dodgers have been in a bad stretch as of late, as the team has lost three of their last five games heading into this nationally televised matchup on ESPN on Sunday Night Baseball. Here are my picks for that matchup for DFS lineups on Sunday.

Cubs vs. Dodgers DFS Start ‘Ems

Here are a few of the players that we are leaning on heavily in this game. These players are in a good spot to put together a solid performance and have a favorable matchup.

Mookie Betts ($4,200 FanDuel)

Mookie Betts had a bad game last night as he went 0-4 at the plate, but he had averaged over 9.9 fantasy points per game on FanDuel in the five previous games before Saturday night. Betts should return to his normal play on Sunday Night Baseball, as he has typically performed well in his career on the ESPN broadcast. Look for Betts to have a big night for the Dodgers.

Dansby Swanson ($3,200 FanDuel)

Dansby Swanson had an RBI single in the game on Saturday and finished with 6.5 fantasy points. He also had a MONSTER GAME this past Tuesday with 41.4 fantasy points against the Rangers. Swanson has the potential to have a strong game Sunday Night, as he is 1-4 in his career against Tyler Glasnow with a Home Run.

Chicago Cubs vs. Los Angeles Dodgers DFS Sit ‘Ems

Detroit Tigers right fielder Nomar Mazara (15) is forced out by second baseman Nico Horner (2) during second inning action Friday, May 14 2021 at Comerica Park in Detroit, MI.Tigers Chi

On the flip side of things, here are a few of the players we are sitting in this one.

Tyler Glasnow ($10,000 FanDuel)

Tyler Glasnow is coming off an outing in his last appearance where he gave up five runs in two innings against the Phillies. Yes, he had a dominant outing against the Braves his first time out, where he finished with 45 points on FanDuel, but with a Cubs lineup that is coming off a very productive night, I would look to hold off on Glasnow until his next outing.

Nico Horner ($3,100 FanDuel)

Nico Horner had 6.5 fantasy points on Saturday night, as the Cubs’ second baseman has had a productive season thus far, with him averaging 11.76 fantasy points on FanDuel with nine RBIs and six stolen bases with a .294 average thus far this season. I think that Horner will have a slight down night tonight against Glasnow.

Total Apex Lock of the Game

Teoscar Hernandez ($3,900 FanDuel)

Teoscar Hernandez is the leader of RBIs and Average for the Dodgers at this very moment in time and is averaging 13.36 fantasy points this season. I love Hernandez and Kyle Tucker ($4,400 FanDuel) as locks, but Hernandez is a much better budget lock in the outfield in this game because he could easily get a 30+ fantasy day in the blink of an eye.

Total Apex Fade of the Game

Seiya Suzuki ($3,500 FanDuel)

Suzuki has a Wrist injury that will impact him a little bit, and it might be enough to sideline him in this game. Suzuki has been good this season, but the impact of the wrist is huge because it affects how you grip the bat to swing. So don’t play Suzuki in DFS until the wrist is fully healed. Plus, I could easily see him struggle if he were fully healthy in this particular matchup.

Conclusion

I have the Dodgers winning this game late with their bullpen, as this game could be high-scoring with how hot this Cubs offense is at this particular moment in time. I think Betts, Hernandez, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani will have huge days for the Dodgers after being shut out on Saturday. Total Apex Fantasy is the place to be for MLB, NBA, and NFL DFS advice throughout the year.
