The Dodgers have had massive success in the regular season over the last decade, in part because of how the front office has built out the roster. While Los Angeles has always had star power on the team, they've also had quality depth around the roster.

One of the most important depth pieces during that time has been utility player Chris Taylor. He was acquired from the Seattle Mariners in 2016 and has emerged to build out a solid career for himself.

Taylor's role has diminished over the last year or two, but he still provides the Dodgers with major value. His ability to play in both the infield and outfield gives manager Dave Roberts flexibility when building out lineups.

The veteran recently spoke with SportsNet LA about how his offseason has gone, saying that he feels very good entering the season.

“I feel really good. I feel strong. I’ve been, you know, pretty much from the moment we lost (to the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLDS) I was able to get in the weight room right away. Took care of a few nagging things with my knees. I’ve been working with the strength coaches and training staff at Dodger Stadium to try to get that behind me. I think I’m getting at a point in my career where there’s always going to be little things that pop up. It’s just trying to stay ahead of it and manage it. That’s just part of the game, I think. I feel good and healthy, and as close to 100 percent as I’ve been in a while.”

With the injury issues that the Dodgers dealt with last season, this is music to their ears. Having Taylor healthy will be massive for the Dodgers, and their chances over the long season.

Taylor hit .237 with 15 home runs and 56 runs batted in over 117 games played. He was hurt for parts of last season, which limited his playing time as well.

Los Angeles will likely limit his playing time throughout the season with their usual platooning. He will be a key factor in their run to try to win another World Series this season.
