The Cincinnati Reds may have just solidified their bullpen for 2024. They signed Buck Farmer on a one-year, $2.25 million contract.

Farmer was a key member of the bullpen last season, appearing in 71 games and pitching 75 innings.

With Farmer returning, the candidates for Cincinnati's six member bullpen are Alexis Diaz, Lucas Sims, Emilio Pagan, Gibaut, Farmer, Sam Moll, Alex Young, Tejay Antone and Fernando Cruz. If the Reds are going to add another starting pitcher, Nick Martinez could also move to the bullpen.

Farmer had an up and down season, compiling a 3.65 ERA in the first half of the year, but a 4.99 ERA in the second half. All in all, he was an above average reliever with 1.0 bWAR for the season.

This doesn’t feel like the final move the Reds have up their sleeve this offseason, but it does help solidify the bullpen.
