Remember a few weeks ago at the start of spring training when Cincinnati Reds' young infielder Elly De La Cruz broke the car window of young pitcher Hunter Greene during a batting practice session?

We chronicled it here, if you forgot.

Well, the duo has gone viral on Thursday for a hilarious photo of the broken window, which has seen been signed by both De La Cruz and Greene.

Given that Greene has a big six-year, $53 million contract under his belt, he can certainly afford a new window - or just a new car outright, if he wants.

While this moment is certainly funny and has given us all a good laugh, these two players are two major keys towards getting the Reds to the playoffs again this season. Cincy hasn't been to the playoffs since the COVID-shortened 2020 season. They won 82 games a year ago and appear primed for a major uptick this year because of players just like this.

The 24-year-old Greene is one of the centerpieces of the young Reds roster. He made his major league debut in 2022 and is 9-20 lifetime with a 4.62 ERA, but he features a triple-digit fastball and now apparently has new secondary offerings.

He figures to pair with Frankie Montas, Graham Ashcraft, Nick Martinez and Nick Lodolo in the rotation.

As for De La Cruz, the 22-year-old made a thunderous debut last June and immediately impacted the Reds season. He helped them take over first place in the National League Central for a spell and kept them in playoff contention until the final week of the season.

Armed with elite speed and power, De La Cruz hit 13 homers and stole 35 bases in just 98 games. The numbers would have been even higher if not for a September swoon.
