It is very difficult to imagine Clayton Kershaw playing for any other team than the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now, that will not happen for at least one more year.

As first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, Kershaw has agreed to re-sign with the Dodgers on a one-year contract. Financial terms were not immediately reported.

Kershaw, who turns 34 in just over a week, had his 2021 season hindered by injury and did not pitch in the postseason. He certainly seemed aware of the possibility that he would not return to the Dodgers, as there was not much clarity to his future at the end of the year prior to the lockout.

Kershaw went 10-8 with a 3.55 ERA in 2021. The three-time NL Cy Young winner has won 185 career games, all of them with the Dodgers.
