Clayton Kershaw unsure of future with Dodgers beyond 2021 season

Clayton Kershaw has spent his entire 13-year career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, his future with the franchise beyond 2021 is unclear.

The 32-year-old is entering the final year of his three-year, $93 million deal and isn't sure if he wants an extension with the franchise.

"I don't know," Kershaw told Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times when asked if he wants an extension from the team. "Honestly, I wish I had an answer."

Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman confirmed that he hasn't had extension talks with the left-hander yet. However, he said he wants Kershaw to remain in Los Angeles if he continues pitching.

Kershaw helped lift the Dodgers to a World Series title last season and will look to help the team defend it in 2021. He went 6-2 during the regular season with a 2.16 ERA, 0.840 WHIP and 62 strikeouts in 58.1 innings. He went 4-1 with a 2.93 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 30.2 innings during the postseason.

If Kershaw doesn't re-sign with the Dodgers after the 2021 campaign, it'll be interesting to see where he ends up.
