The Los Angeles Angels beat the Colorado Rockies on Saturday night by a score of 25-1. From the Angels perspective, the game was historic on several levels. We covered that here.

Sadly though, there was some history made by the Rockies too. Specifically, by starting pitcher Chase Anderson.

Per ESPN Stats & Info:

Mike Trout, Brandon Drury and Matt Thaiss hit back-to-back-to-back HR on 3 straight pitches vs Rockies starter Chase Anderson.

The last time a team hit 3 HR on 3 straight pitches was the Yankees on Sept. 17, 2020 vs the Blue Jays (Gardner, LeMahieu, Voit)...also against Chase Anderson.

Now, we don't have a record as to how many pitchers have actually done this, but it can't be many. Regardless, to have your name etched in as the guy who has done it the two most recent times in baseball? Tough day at the office.

Anderson lasted 2.2 innings on the day, surrendering 10 hits, nine earned runs and the three homers. The loss dropped him 2-2 on the season with a 5.79 ERA.

The 35-year-old is in his 10th year in the big leagues with the Diamondbacks, Brewers, Blue Jays, Phillies, Reds, Rays and Rockies.

He's over .500 for his career on the mound. He's 58-52 with a 4.32 ERA.

The two teams will finish out their series on Sunday afternoon at 3:10 p.m. as lefty Austin Gomber (4-7, 7.25 ERA) pitches for Colorado while lefty Tyler Anderson (4-1, 5.64) goes for the Angels.

Colorado is now 30-49 on the season while the Angels are 42-36.
