The Colorado Rockies, owners of the worst record in the National League, got some good news this weekend regarding the health of leading starting pitcher Kyle Freeland.

The following comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Freeland (shoulder) is throwing another bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.

ANALYSIS
Freeland threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Wednesday and will continue to ramp up activity. Assuming there are no setbacks, he's hoping to return to the team's rotation next weekend in a series against the Athletics.

Freeland suffered a subluxation in his non-throwing shoulder right before the All-Star break.

The 30-year-old Colorado native has been putting together a nice season for the Rockies. Though he's 4-10, he's got a 4.72 ERA and has been on the receiving end of some tough losses. In his most recent start, he went 6.1 innings and allowed just one run and still took the loss in a 1-0 defeat.

Injuries have been nothing new to Rockies pitchers this year as the team has seen both Antonio Senzatela and German Marquez need Tommy John surgery.

Senzatela only threw 7.2 innings this year after a late start. He was recovering from ACL surgery, and now he'll miss the rest of this year and most or all of next year.

For his career, he's 39-43 in 145 career games. He's got a lifetime 4.87 ERA. He debuted in 2017 and has spent his entire career in Colorado. He's won double-digit games twice in his career (10 in 2017 and 11 in 2019).

The Rockies will visit the Miami Marlins on Saturday afternoon. First pitch is 1:10 p.m. ET.
