Cristian Javier had a night to remember on Wednesday in Game 4 of the World Series.

The Houston Astros sent him to the mound in hopes of evening the Fall Classic at two games apiece.

Javier delivered under the bright lights at Citizens Bank Park, holding the Philadelphia Phillies hitless through six innings and striking out nine.

Javier gave way to Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero, and Ryan Pressly, who each pitched a scoreless inning to finish off the combined no-hitter.

It was the second time Javier had started a combined no-hitter, with the first being at Yankee Stadium.

One Astros analyst made the case for Javier to be considered one of the best pitchers in all of baseball.

Javier’s Dominance

Javier has certainly pitched like an ace this postseason, going 2-0 in three outings with a 0.71 ERA.

During the regular season, he went 11-9 in 30 appearances and posted a 2.54 ERA.

The evidence is certainly there to suggest that Javier could be considered an ace.

He’s dominated two prolific offenses this year, holding them both hitless.

The Phillies bats were hot too heading into Game 4.

They had just busted out for seven runs in Game 3 and had broken the single-game record for World Series home runs.

But in Game 4, Javier silenced the powerful Phillies and gave the Astros a little momentum heading into Game 5.

Javier pitched like an ace yet again and now has the Astros just two wins shy of their second World Series title in the last six seasons.
