Cubs' Anthony Rizzo slams MLB for lack of player safety

Major League Baseball's player safety protocols amid the coronavirus pandemic need some adjustments, and Chicago Cubs star Anthony Rizzo is encouraging the league to take notice.

The first baseman was quick to call out MLB on Thursday as players crammed into their clubhouse during a rain delay, which made social distancing impossible.

Rizzo, a cancer survivor, is taking the coronavirus pandemic very seriously, even going so far as to carry around hand sanitizer in his back pocket during games.

If MLB wants to get things under control, then maybe they should listen to Rizzo's concerns.

The Miami Marlins coronavirus outbreak is the largest in sports, and 20 members in the organization have tested positive for COVID-19. Their season has been suspended through the weekend.

The St. Louis Cardinals also reported two positive cases on Friday, resulting in their series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers being postponed.

Similarly, the Philadelphia Phillies series against the Toronto Blue Jays was postponed after two players tested positive for the virus.

The MLB season, quite frankly, is in jeopardy. The concerns of Rizzo and others will only grow louder as more players test positive.
