Darryl Strawberry probably would have been a Hall of Famer if he didn’t do so many unadvisable things off the field during his playing career. And when we say off the field, we mean even in the clubhouse and dugout in the middle of games.

In an interview with Evan Cohen on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio Thursday morning, Strawberry was asked a series of questions about his reckless lifestyle during the 1980s. He admitted to drinking in the clubhouse, smoking cigarettes in the dugout and even having sex at the ballpark.

Yes, during games.

“When I was on the road, probably. It’s a great possibility,” Strawberry said. “In the middle of a game. Let’s just leave it at that. Been there, done that.”

Wait, in the middle of a game he was playing in?!

“Between innings. It worked out well just how crazy it was,” Strawberry added. “It kind of worked out that way. You point (a woman) out and tell the kid (to go get her).”

Needless to say, Strawberry was very open and honest during the interview. You can listen to the relevant portion below:

Strawberry also admitted his career probably would have been even shorter and more disappointing if social media existed when he played. That’s a given. Twitter could have made life horrible for guys like Straw and another former MLB player who admitted to pitching while high on cocaine.

Imagine people following guys like Strawberry and Joe Namath around and tweeting about it? That’s a terrifying thought.
