We’ve been talking about it for seemingly months, but it’s finally here. The long-awaited return of Max Fried will take place on Friday at the iconic Wrigley Field against the Cubs, according to Brian Snitker.

Fried has not pitched since May 5th after going on the IL with forearm inflammation. The Braves have taken things very cautiously, which they’ve had the luxury of doing with such a large lead in the NL East.

However, the expectation is for Max Fried to return to form. Prior to the injury, he looked as good as ever, posting a 2.08 ERA over his first five starts. There’s a reason the Braves didn’t overpay for starting pitching at the deadline. They have one of the best pitchers in baseball set to return for the stretch run, and there’s hope that Kyle Wright isn’t too far behind.
