Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is feeling very bullish about his team’s chances in 2022.

Roberts confidently predicted that the Dodgers would win the World Series in 2022 in an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show” Thursday. Patrick prompted Roberts to finish the sentence “we will win the World Series if,” but Roberts was not in the mood to play that game. Instead, he gave a bolder answer.

“We play a full season, and there is a postseason. We are winning the World Series in 2022. I know where you’re going with that. We’re winning the World Series this year. Put it on record,” Roberts told the host.

Roberts ultimately relented and filled in the blank, saying that the Dodgers would win if their starting pitching can stay healthy.

Roberts has reason to be confident.

The Dodgers still have one of the game’s best rosters. They will likely be a force throughout the regular season and into the playoffs. That said, past Dodger World Series guarantees have not always come to fruition.

Roberts will have to hope he has a magic touch for it.
