David Ortiz Raymond Carlin III-USA TODAY Sports

David Ortiz may be a little rusty with the bat in his hands.

The Boston Red Sox legend did not have a great at-bat during his gender reveal party with his pregnant girlfriend María Yeribell Martínez. The couple went with a cute baseball approach to announcing the gender of their unborn child.

Ortiz swung and missed on an absolute heater from Martinez that tied Big Papi up high and tight. The video of Ortiz’s strikeout was posted on Pio Deportes’ official Instagram account.

The blue confetti signaled that Ortiz was going to have a son, who would be Big Papi's fourth child.

Ortiz currently has three children — two with ex-wife Tiffany and another from a past relationship.

Ortiz finished his 20-year MLB career with a career .286 batting average. But he’s currently batting well below the Mendoza line against his current girlfriend.
