Brandon Nimmo hit a leadoff homer Saturday night and four New York Mets pitchers combined on five-hitter in a 3-0 win over the visiting Colorado Rockies.

David Peterson allowed four hits over six innings for the Mets, who have won the first three games of the four-game series. The Rockies have lost 10 of 13.

Nimmo hit the second pitch from Kyle Freeland beyond the right-center field fence for his first leadoff homer of the season and the sixth of his career.

The center fielder was also involved in the Mets' other two run-scoring rallies. In the second, Mark Canha drew a leadoff hit by pitch, went to second on Jeff McNeil's walk and scored on Nimmo's two-out double.

Nimmo coaxed a one-out walk in the seventh and scored on Starling Marte's double, which split the gap in right-center field.

The early runs were more than enough for Peterson (7-3), who was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse prior to the game. The southpaw allowed a pair of singles in the first but stranded runners at the corners by getting Elias Diaz to pop out.

That began a streak of 10 straight batters retired by Peterson, who didn't allow another runner past first base. He walked none and struck out seven.

The six-inning stint marked the fourth time this season Peterson has gone at least six innings and the first time since July 1, when he earned the win against the Texas Rangers.

Seth Lugo and Trevor May each struck out two in a perfect inning of relief apiece before Adam Ottavino earned his second save with a one-hit ninth.

Canha had two hits.

C.J. Cron had two hits for the Rockies, both singles, while Randal Grichuk, Ryan McMahon and Jose Iglesias all had a single apiece.

Freeland (7-9) allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two over five innings.
