David Ross' evisceration of home plate umpire gets picked up by hot mic

Chicago Cubs manager David Ross wasn't pleased with home plate umpire Alex Mackay's strike zone on Sunday, and he let him know it with a one-sided tongue-lashing in the first inning.

However, Ross' entire rant got picked up by a hot mic for viewers at home to hear.

"You've got to be better," Ross said. "You got one godd--- game before you get a break and you're that f------ bad already?"

Ross was tossed from the game prior to his outburst following something he said in the dugout, so at least he got his money's worth. Ross' ejection was his fourth on the season, but the Cubbies manager has had umpires in his crosshairs practically all season long.

Last week, Ross received another ejection for arguing balls and strikes during a 7-6 Cubs' win over the Milwaukee Brewers in extra-innings. After the game, Ross wasn't bashful about sharing his thoughts on the umpiring crew.

"I know it's not an easy job, but some of the pitches that got called today weren't even close," Ross said via Mike Clemens of 96.7 FM The Zone. "It's got to be better."

On Sunday, the Cubs were victorious again following Ross' freak out, downing the Yankees 7-4 in their final game before the All-Star break.

At 42-47, the Cubs trail the first-place Cincinnati Reds by seven games in the National League Central, so maybe Ross should get thrown out more often after the break to spike up that win total in the second half.
