The Detroit Tigers still aren't sure when they'll get back outfielder Austin Meadows.

They've been without the power-hitting lefty for much of the season as he gets treatment for anxiety.

The following update comes from the Rotowire fantasy baseball portal:

Tigers manager AJ Hinch said Thursday that Meadows (personal) is continuing his treatment in Florida, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

ANALYSIS
Meadows has been on the injured list since April 7 while dealing with anxiety and was staying in Detroit prior to the Tigers' last road trip. It remains unknown when Meadows will return, but it's possible the Tigers opt to send him on a rehab assignment before bringing him back on the big-league roster.

Baseball is second in this case. It matters most that Meadows is OK and feeling happy and healthy. If he does come back to the Tigers this season, it will be a nice punch to their lineup.

The 28-year-old is a career .259 hitter with 70 homers and 23 RBI. He made the All-Star Game in 2019 while playing with the Rays and ended up hitting 33 homers that year. He also hit 27 homers and drove in 106 in 2021.

This year, he's played in six games and is hitting .238.

On a personal front for Meadows, coming back this year could help him establish some value heading into free agency, which he'll hit after the season.

The Tigers enter Thursday at 27-39 and 7.0 games back in the American League Central. They've lost nine of their last 10 and will play the Twins at 8:10 p.m. ET.
