The best athletes know how to turn a crappy situation and make the best out of it. Arizona Diamondbacks reliever Archie Bradley exemplified that in an appearance earlier this season.

According to this Yahoo Sports’ MLB podcast, Bradley pooped his pants just minutes before he took the mound in a game this season.

The 25-year-old’s story came up after he talked about his friendship with Milwaukee Brewers reliever Adrian Houser, who vomited twice on the mound earlier this season. Needless to say, Bradley’s story skids right past Houser’s for level of wackiness.

“So it’s a 2-2 count, and I’m like, ‘Man, I have to pee. I have to go pee.’ So I run in our bathroom real quick, I’m ready to go. I’m trying to pee and I actually [expletive] my pants. Like right before I’m about to go in the game, I pooped my pants,” Bradley said, via Yahoo Sports. “I’m like ‘Oh my gosh.’ I know I’m a pitch away from going in the game, so I’m scrambling to clean myself up. I get it cleaned up the best I can, button my pants up, and our bullpen coach Mike Fetters says, ‘Hey, you’re in the game.’ So I’m jogging into the game to pitch with poop in my pants essentially.

Bradley took the mound in his white pants and kept the mess inside them, working a clean inning and then immediately heading for the dugout. In fact, his teammates thought Bradley made the crap up until they found the scene left in the team’s restroom.

“It was the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been on the mound. And I actually had a good inning. I had a clean inning, and I walked in the dugout and I was like, ‘Guys, I just [expletive] myself.’,” Bradley said, via Yahoo Sports. “They didn’t believe me, then the bullpen came in and they’re like ‘Oh my God, you had to see this.’”

While it’s not known what game this happened, it would be fitting if it happened during the team’s skid in May when they won just eight games.

One thing is for certain, Bradley has shown he can handle any mess he encounters.
