Diamondbacks, No. 2 overall pick Druw Jones agree to record-breaking $8.1 million signing bonus
Two days after being selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks as the No. 2 overall pick in the MLB draft, outfielder Druw Jones has already made history.
The agreement between Jones and the D-Backs comes one day after the Texas Rangers came to terms on a $5.2 million bonus with No. 3 selection Kumar Rocker.
The son of five-time All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove award winner Andruw Jones, the 18-year-old hit .570 with 13 home runs, 39 RBI, 32 stolen bases and 72 runs scored for Wesleyan High School in Georgia this past season. Jones also served as a starting pitcher, finishing his senior campaign with a 10-1 record.
Jones is listed at the top of MLB.com's prospect rankings.
