The Arizona Diamondbacks placed right-hander Scott McGough on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his pitching shoulder prior to Sunday night's home game against the Chicago Cubs.

McGough struggled mightily in his last outing, giving up three runs and four hits in just two-thirds of an inning against the New York Mets on Thursday.

McGough, 33, is 2-7 with a 4.73 ERA and nine saves in 63 appearances (one start) for Arizona this season.

The Diamondbacks recalled right-hander Bryce Jarvis from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Jarvis, 25, is 2-0 with a 2.81 ERA in seven appearances with Arizona this season.
