After initially deciding against it , Diamondbacks RHP Drey Jameson will undergo Tommy John surgery, per Nick Piercoro.

Before heading to the IL in early July, Jameson was one of the more reliable arms in the Diamondbacks bullpen. Through 40 innings, Drey posted a 3.32 ERA and struck out 37 batters.

Jameson was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the first round of the 2019 draft. Overall, through two seasons, the 26-year-old holds a 6-1 record and a 2.63 ERA in his career.

The typical recovery for Tommy John is around 10–12 months, meaning unfortunately, Arizona will likely be without a key piece of their bullpen all of next season.
