Dodgers ace Trevor Bauer has administrative leave extended through Aug. 20

Los Angeles Dodgers ace and reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer will remain out of action for at least another week.

According to an ESPN report, Bauer's paid administrative leave has been extended another seven days through Aug. 20. It's the fifth extension attached to his leave since he first became unavailable July 2 amid disturbing allegations of sexual assault.

The hearing for the temporary restraining order related to allegations made against the 30-year-old was postponed to this coming Monday and is set to run through Thursday, if necessary. Both Bauer and his reported victim attended the initial hearing in late July, when the pitcher's attorneys requested a continuance to prepare for cross-examining witnesses.

Bauer hasn't taken the bump since June 28, and it's believed he'll remain on administrative leave at least until the City of Pasadena Police Department and MLB complete their separate investigations into the allegations. Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times previously reported a "majority" of Bauer's Los Angeles teammates don't want him back with the team this season "under any circumstances," and it's unknown if the Dodgers would welcome him back if he becomes eligible to pitch before or during the playoffs.

Bauer's three-year, $102 million contract he signed with the Dodgers in February includes a pair of opt-out clauses, so it's possible he's made his last official appearance as an active member of the organization.
