Ryan Yarbrough struggled in a second start for the Los Angeles Dodgers in their 14-5 loss to the Colorado Rockies to split a four-game series at Coors Field.

J.D. Martinez provided an immediate lead with a two-run home run in the first inning that gave him 100 RBI on the year. It also made Dodgers franchise history as the first time they’ve had four players with at least 100 RBI in the same season.

Mookie Betts leads the team with 106 RBI, followed by Max Muncy (105), Freddie Freeman (101) and Martinez.

Colorado cut their deficit in half on Charlie Blackmon’s leadoff home run in the bottom of the first inning, which was answered by Kiké Hernández’s solo shot in the second.

The back-and-forth scoring continued in the bottom of the second inning on Brenton Doyle’s two-run double that tied the game.

Yarbrough’s troubles continued in the third inning as he gave up four runs, capped off by back-to-back homers by Elehuris Montero and Sean Bouchard. The Rockies continued to get to Yarbrough in the fourth, with Nolan Rodgers’ two-run double breaking the game open.

Caleb Ferguson retired one of seven batters faced and allowed four runs in the seventh inning as the Rockies continued to pull away.

Miguel Rojas pitches for Dodgers

Manager Dave Roberts has already mentioned the pitching staff as being the position group he is most worried about in terms of usage heading into the postseason, and he used the eighth inning of a lopsided game to have Miguel Rojas pitch.

Rojas allowed one run in his third appearance of the season. He pitched while using Charlie Freeman’s glove, which his father often has with him when completing drills before batting practice.
