Dodgers disappointing NLDS exit is a historic collapse
After setting the franchise record in regular-season wins (111) and leading the league in just about every category you can think of, the Los Angeles Dodgers offense was dismantled by the San Diego Padres, who they bullied this season winning every series against them (14-5).
That's right, the Padres who won 89 games in the regular season and lost almost three-quarters of their games to the Dodgers, took down the mighty Dodgers in four games after defeating the New York Mets in the Wild Card Series.
Los Angeles’ early exit is actually the first time in MLB history that a team lost a playoff series to a divisional opponent after not losing a series to them in the regular season.
The bad type of history the Dodgers are making doesn’t stop there. the Dodgers are the first team in MLB history to win 110+ games and not reach a championship series. This is worse than the 2019 collapse to the Washington Nationals.
The Dodgers' early exit has caused outrage among fans on social media and embarrassing headlines by news outlets.

The Dodgers have now followed the trend of 100-plus-win teams getting eliminated this postseason. The Mets and Atlanta Braves both won 101 games in the regular season. The Mets were taken care of by San Diego and Atlanta lost to the 87-win Phillidelphia Phillies in the NLDS.
The NLCS will now feature two teams who failed to win 90 games in the regular season.
