Dodgers' Gavin Lux on IL with hamstring strain

Los Angeles Dodgers middle infielder Gavin Lux strained his left hamstring running to first base in the ninth inning of Sunday's game at the Colorado Rockies:

On Monday, the Dodgers placed Lux on the 10-day injured list for the first time in his MLB career. In a corresponding roster move, Los Angeles recalled outfielder Zach Reks from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Per Eric Stephen of True Blue LA, manager Dave Roberts said on Sunday that Lux would undergo an MRI Monday to determine the seriousness of the setback.

"From what I understand, it’s kind of in a cramp, strain-ish, mild strain category, We’ll know more tomorrow," Roberts explained at that time. "Regardless, I see at least a couple days, he’ll be down. We’ll make a decision outside of that tomorrow."

Lux is hitting .227 with six home runs and 37 RBI in 82 games this season. Reks, meanwhile, is hitless in four at-bats and three games.

The Dodgers head into Monday's matchup against the first-place San Francisco Giants at 58-36, only one game back of the Giants in the National League West standings.
