Dodgers making changes to outfield wall after Aaron Judge injury
The Los Angeles Dodgers are making some adjustments to the outfield wall at Dodger Stadium following Aaron Judge's injury this weekend.
Judge injured his toe when he made a leaping catch at the right field wall that saw him crash through the fencing and jam his toe on the concrete below.
Among the changes the Dodgers will be making are reinforcing the chain-link fence that Judge crashed through, as well as adding padding to the concrete below, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
It was originally believed that Judge had crashed through a door that had simply opened, but that was not the case according to team president Stan Kasten.
Here is what Kasten had to say, via The Athletic.
“He didn’t go through the door, which is what I thought when I was watching the game,” Kasten said. “Then I got out there and realized the door doesn’t open in that direction. “He actually broke through where some of the panels were joined, the barrier between the two connecting panels. Which is unbelievable. But we’re going to strengthen that and add a strip of padding on the bottom as well.”

Judge has been out of the lineup ever since.
It is a big injury for the Yankees, even if it is short-term, as the reigning American League MVP is off to an even better start than what he did a year ago. As he goes, the Yankees offense goes.
Along with his power and impact at the plate, he has also been an outstanding defensive outfielder making several highlight reel plays at the wall.
