Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias was arrested on suspicion of felony domestic violence, according to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Passan. He did not travel with the team to Miami.
Per the report, Urias was arrested after 11 p.m. PT and was released just before 5 a.m. PT on $50,000 bond. A court date has been scheduled for Sept. 27.
Details regarding what unfolded were not mentioned in ESPN’s initial story.
After learning of the news, the Los Angeles Dodgers released a statement on Twitter regarding the situation.
“We are aware of an incident involving Julio Urias,” the statement read. “While we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with the team. The organization has no further comment at this time.”
