Dodgers star Cody Bellinger has hairline fracture in left leg

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger won't take the field with his teammates on Saturday against the San Diego Padres.

Bellinger suffered a hairline fracture in his left leg, Dave Roberts said Friday, according to ESPN's Alden Gonzalez. The 25-year-old has been out since April 5 with what was originally diagnosed as a bruised calf.

Roberts did not specify when Bellinger could return, though he said the latest development "hasn't really changed the course of his timetable." Earlier this week, Roberts said Bellinger could return in a week or two.

The Arizona native was hurt when he was spiked by Oakland Athletics reliever Reymin Guduan last week while beating out an infield single in the ninth inning.

In four games this season, Bellinger is slashing .211/.286/.368 with two RBIs on four hits.
