Dodgers' Trevor Bauer has administrative leave extended again?

Los Angeles Dodgers ace and reigning National League Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer was first placed on administrative leave July 2 amid allegations of sexual assault and had that leave extended through Tuesday.

ESPN's Alden Gonzalez now reports Bauer's leave was extended through at least Aug. 6.

It was learned this past Friday that attorneys representing the 30-year-old right-hander and his accuser agreed to push a restraining order hearing back to next Monday and Tuesday in L.A. County Superior Court. A third day, if necessary, is scheduled for Aug. 19.

The MLB Players Association must consent to the league placing a union member on administrative leave, which guarantees that player service time and his salary. It's been reported Bauer likely won't be eligible to return until both MLB and the Pasadena Police Department finish their separate investigations.

Bauer has denied wrongdoing through representatives and said sexual encounters between the woman and him were "wholly consensual." He joined the Dodgers on a three-year, $102 million deal that includes opt-out clauses after each of the first two seasons that he signed in February, but Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times recently reported the "majority" of Bauer's teammates don't want him back "under any circumstances" following the disturbing allegations.

His future with the Dodgers remains unclear heading into August.
