Not too much time has passed since Houston Astros manager Dusty Baker picked up historic win No. 2,000.

That accomplishment just so happens to have come while the Astros are on a 10-game winning streak and have taken hold of first place in the American League West division.

Baker is a manager who has been around a long time and has seen it all during his many years.

But he’s not done chasing history just yet.

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale tweeted an interesting fact, stating that Baker now has 2,008 career wins and with 33 more wins, he will move into the Top 10 of all time in managerial wins, passing former Los Angeles Dodgers manager Walter Alston.

Baker After More History

The history just keeps coming for Baker.

He already managed to do something pretty special, but now he has a chance for even more.

And you can bet the whole baseball world will be rooting for him.

Baker is one of the most well-respected managers of all time and is a guy who players love to play for.

His current players certainly will want to win for him so that he can move into the Top 10.

His former players will no doubt be pulling for him to reach yet another historic mark.

Here we have a manager who has had a positive impact on the lives of so many great baseball players.

The Astros have been red-hot since he picked up win No. 2,000 and there will certainly be some extra motivation on their side to try and get Baker to yet another historic milestone.

It’s only a matter of time before Baker reaches this milestone and when he does, the whole baseball community will rejoice.
