Evan Longoria delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning to help lift the San Francisco Giants to a 3-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the rubber game of their three-game series on Sunday afternoon in Phoenix.

Longoria pinch-hit for Ford Proctor with the bases loaded and one out, and the 15-year veteran lined a single to left to score Brandon Crawford and Jason Vosler for a 2-1 lead.

J.D. Davis had four hits, including a solo homer in the ninth, for San Francisco (75-78), which has won six of seven.

The Giants used back-to-back relievers to start the game.

Scott Alexander pitched a scoreless first inning and Jarlin Garcia followed with 1 2/3 scoreless innings.

Jakob Junis (5-6) then worked 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run and four hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Camilo Doval pitched the ninth and surrendered a sacrifice fly to make it 3-2 before securing his 26th save.

Arizona starter Drey Jameson threw 5 1/3 scoreless innings. The 25-year-old rookie right-hander gave up five hits, struck out five and walked three for the Diamondbacks (71-83).

Josh Rojas singled off Junis to start the fifth. After a fielder's choice groundout, Pavin Smith delivered an RBI double to deep right field to give the Diamondbacks a 1-0 lead.

The Giants pressured the Diamondbacks in the six when Davis led off with a double and took third on a single by Brandon Crawford.

Jameson struck out David Villar and was then relieved by Kevin Ginkel, who got Vosler to hit into an inning-ending double play.

San Francisco loaded the bases in the seventh off Ginkel with two outs. Luis Frias came on to face Davis and got him to line out to short to end the inning.

Jameson, a first-round pick by Arizona in the 2019 MLB Draft, was still in position to win three straight starts to begin his MLB career when the Giants loaded the bases with one out in the eighth inning against Frias (1-1).

Reyes Moronta came in to face Longoria, who came through with the two-run single to left.
