When you hear the name Felix Hernandez your mind automatically drifts off and remembers one of the best, yet most underrated pitchers in baseball history.

Unfortunately, the star right-hander retired at a young age, but did have a solid 15-year career.

“King Felix”, as he was known, made his debut in 2005 at the tender age of 19.

14 years later, he retired, having won two ERA titles and a Cy Young while also earning six All-Star selections.

And he did all of this with just one team, the Seattle Mariners.

This summer, King Felix will be inducted into the Mariners Hall of Fame.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted a graphic featuring all of Hernandez’s accomplishments.

Hernandez certainly accomplished a lot during his 15 years in Major League Baseball.

His 169 wins, 2,524 strikeouts, 2,729.2 innings pitched, and 49.7 career WAR are the best in Mariners history.

2010 was the year that Hernandez won the American League Cy Young Award.

With a 13-12 record in 34 starts, Hernandez had a microscopic ERA of 2.27.

His career ERA sits at 3.42.

But this is an incredible honor for Hernandez.

He, like Ichiro Suzuki, was a staple in Mariners franchise history and could always be counted on when needed the most.

The only thing Hernandez is missing is an appearance in postseason baseball.

The 36-year-old never appeared in the postseason due to the Mariners suffering through a 21-year drought, one that was finally broken in 2022.

But King Felix was probably one of the more underrated pitchers in baseball during his career.

Still, Mariners fans will always appreciate his run of success.
