First-inning HR helps Aaron Judge reach impressive milestone vs. Blue Jays

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge continued his domination of the Toronto Blue Jays, hitting his fourth home run in as many days on Thursday while reaching an impressive milestone against the AL East rival.

In the first inning, Judge swatted a home run 430 feet over the centerfield wall off Blue Jays starter Jose Berrios. The homer was the 32nd of Judge's career against Toronto, passing former All-Star catcher Jorge Posada for the most ever by a Yankee against the Blue Jays, per ESPN Stats and Info

Unsurprisingly, Judge has hit most of his home runs against divisional opponents. The Baltimore Orioles are the only team in MLB victimized more by Judge with the long ball. Judge has 37 career homers against the Orioles, followed by the Blue Jays (32), Boston Red Sox (21) and Tampa Bay Rays (21).

Outside the division, the Kansas City Royals have given up the most home runs (12) to Judge. Meanwhile, the Arizona Diamondbacks, St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals remain the only teams in MLB Judge has yet to homer against.

The 2023 campaign is still in its infancy, but Judge has already been a major thorn in the side of the Blue Jays. Entering play Thursday, Judge batted .227/.370/.636 with three home runs and five RBI in six games.
