Milwaukee Brewers manager Craig Counsell Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The 2023 Milwaukee Brewers schedule has been revealed. Next season’s Major League Baseball schedule will be the first time in league history that each team plays every other team, regardless of league.

With all major league teams competing against each other next season, it presents the Brewers will some very intriguing matchups. Here, I highlight five of the most interesting aspects about the 2023 Milwaukee Brewers schedule.

1. Shohei Ohtani and the Los Angeles Angels Are Coming to Milwaukee

Shohei Ohtani may just be the brightest star in baseball. A Cy Young and MVP candidate every year, Major League Baseball has not seen a player like him since Babe Ruth. The Angels, which are in the beginning stages of exploring a sale of the team, will visit the Brewers for a three-game series on April 28-30.

2. The Brewers Play the St. Louis Cardinals Seven Times in September

If 2022 is any indicator, the National League Central Division will be a season-long battle between the Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals. According to the 2023 schedule, the Brewers will play seven of 13 games against their division rival in late September. Four games will be played in St. Louis from Sept. 18-21. The final three games of the season series between the two teams will be in Milwaukee from Sept. 26-28.

3. The Brewers Will Start and End the 2023 Season Against the Chicago Cubs

As is the case with the Cardinals, the Brewers will play the Chicago Cubs 13 times in 2023. In fact, they will begin and end the 2023 season against the Cubs. They will open the season in Chicago from March 30-April 2 (no game on March 31). The Brewers will end the 2023 regular season in a three-game series against the Cubs in Milwaukee from Sept. 29-Oct. 1.

4. The Brewers Will Play 10-Straight Games Against Division Opponents Going Into the All-Star Break

The 2023 All-Star Game will be held at T-Mobile Park in Seattle on July 11. Heading into the break, the Brewers will play 10 games against NL Central opponents from June 30-July 9. The first three of the 10 games will be at Pittsburgh. This series against the Pirates will wrap up a 10-game road trip that includes stops in Cleveland and New York (Mets). The Brewers will then return home for four games against the Cubs and three against the Cincinnati Reds.

5. April Is Going to Be a Tough Month

Milwaukee may struggle out of the gate in 2023. After the opening series against the Cubs, the Crew will open at home against the New York Mets. Other series in April include games against the Seattle Mariners, Cardinals, San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox. The Mariners and Padres series will be on the road. The other two will be at home in Milwaukee. April ends with home series against the Tigers and Angels.
