Former Angels closer and free agent Keynan Middleton agreed to terms with the St. Louis Cardinals pending a physical per multiple reports on Thursday.

The Cardinals are his sixth team in eight seasons.

He began the season with the Chicago White Sox last season and was dealt to the New York Yankees at the August 1 trade deadline. 

Overall, he went 2-2 with two saves and a 3.38 ERA in 51 outings last season. With the Yankees, specifically, he had no decisions and a 1.88 ERA in 12 appearances. 

The 30-year-old made his Major League debut with the Angels in 2017. He was 6-1 in 64 games with three saves. He had a career-high six saves in 2018.

He spent one year with the Seattle Mariners in 2021 and the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2022.
