Recently retired 200-game winner Adam Wainwright has joined FOX Sports on a multiyear deal.

Wainwright will join the network ahead of the upcoming baseball season, FOX announced Thursday.

"I'm excited to join the FOX Sports family," Wainwright said. "I love the game of baseball, and I really enjoy talking about the chess match that goes on between the pitcher and the hitter. Hopefully, my experience on the field will allow me the opportunity to share the game I love in a unique and deep way, bringing viewers closer to the game."

The network said in a news release that Wainwright will be on the call on a "full slate" of regular season and postseason games. He will be part of the team in London when the Philadelphia Phillies play the New York Mets on June 8 in the London Series.

Wainwright had an audition, of sorts, for the new job when he worked three of the past four postseasons with FOX.

Wainwright, 42, retired following the 2023 season. He made his MLB debut with the Cardinals on Sept. 11, 2005, then played 17 more seasons in St. Louis.

He threw 2,668 1/3 innings over 478 games (411 starts) for the Cardinals, logging a 200-128 record with a 3.53 ERA, 28 complete games, 2,202 strikeouts and 736 walks.

Wainwright was a member of the Cardinals' 2006 team that won the World Series. In his career, he appeared in 29 postseason games (16 starts) and was 4-5 with a 2.83 ERA.
