The St. Louis Cardinals have been out of postseason contention for months despite coming into the year as a National League Central favorite.

Few people could have predicted the quick demise of the 2023 roster, never mind a last-place finish in one of the weakest divisions in Major League Baseball.

While St. Louis did not come close to making the playoffs, fans can see one member of the roster on the brightest stage.

Cardinals legend Adam Wainwright announced that he would be joining the FOX Broadcast for the American League Division Series alongside former St. Louis catcher A.J. Pierzynski and announcer Adam Amin while appearing on the "Foul Territory" podcast.

Wainwright has had a busy couple of weeks and does not appear to be slowing down. The 42-year-old just wrapped up a tumultuous season in which he posted a 7.40 ERA with a 55-to-41 strikeout-to-walk ratio, .345 batting average against and 1.90 WHIP in 101 innings.

On Sept. 18, the three-time All-Star turned back the clock to put up seven shutout innings and claim his 200th career win.

Since then, he logged his final at-bat -- something he wanted to do before ending his final season -- and put on a concert in Busch Stadium to launch his music career with three original singles.

Wainwright will take a few days off and then get right back to work, now in a broadcast booth.
