The Cleveland Guardians are not the only American League Central team making changes to its coaching staff this offseason.

According to Bruce Levine of WSCR-AM 670 The Score , former Cleveland center fielder Grady Sizemore will reportedly become part of the Chicago White Sox coaching staff when it is announced later this week.

Per Levine, Sizemore will be coaching both outfielders and base running for Chicago.

While the former three-time All-Star was hired to an advisory role in Cleveland’s front office in 2017, Sizemore’s new role with the White Sox will be his first career on-field MLB coaching gig.

Coaching outfielders and base running appears to be a good fit for the 41-year-old, as he won consecutive AL Gold Gloves as Cleveland's center fielder in 2007 and 2008, and stole 143 bases in 190 attempts (75.3%) over his 10-year career.

After being acquired by Cleveland in the 2002 Bartolo Colón trade, Sizemore played eight seasons for the team. He hit .269 with 948 hits, 139 home runs, 458 RBI, 216 doubles, 43 triples, and 134 stolen bases for the Indians.

He was one of MLB’s premier players from 2006 through 2008, being named an AL All-Star and finishing top-12 in the AL MVP voting in each season. Sizemore also won his only career Silver Slugger Award in 2008.

However, his playing career was unfortunately cut short due to various injuries.

While Sizemore will be joining the White Sox coaching staff, the Guardians still have some decisions to make regarding theirs.

Although Cleveland officially announced Stephen Vogt as its new manager yesterday, the team still seeks a new third base coach, bullpen coach, and replay coordinator, as Mike Sarbaugh, Rigo Beltran, and Mike Barnett will not return to the Guardians in 2024.
