Another former Los Angeles Dodger has inked himself a new deal. Shane Greene, a former right-handed pitcher of the Dodgers, has signed a minor league deal with the Texas Rangers, the team announced on Wednesday morning.

The deal includes an invitation to Major League spring training.

Greene spent parts of two seasons in Dodger Blue in 2021 and 2022. He signed a major league deal with the Boys in Blue in late August of 2021. In nine games that season, he recorded a 4.05 ERA, one save, seven strikeouts, and a 1.20 WHIP, allowing three runs in 6.2 innings pitched. He was then released a month later.

The Dodgers then signed him to a minor league deal the next year, and he was added to the 40-man roster in May of 2022. He pitched two scoreless innings in one game before he was DFA'd in mid-May.

Greene has had trouble staying in the majors since 2021, making just four total appearances over the last two seasons.

The 10-year vet has a career 4.50 ERA in 345 games and 473.2 innings pitched.

Greene has played for the New York Yankees, Detroit Tigers, Atlanta Braves, Dodgers and Chicago Cubs. He was an All-Star in 2019 with the Tigers. He'll hope to make an impact on the Rangers at some point in 2023.
