Old friend alert out of the AL Central as one time Dodgers pitching prospect Brock Stewart has reemerged with the Minnesota Twins and will get his first taste of big league action in 4 years.

The 31-year-old originally made his MLB debut as a 24-year-old with the Dodgers back in 2016. He was draft by the organization in the 6th round of the 2014 draft and pitched in parts of 4 seasons with LA. He rocketed through the system that debut year, pitching at Single-A, Double-A, and then Triple-A before getting the call up in Milwaukee to face the Brewers in June.

He eventually went to the Toronto Blue Jays in 2019 on a waiver wire deal and has been battling the injury bug ever since.

The right-hander didn't pitch during the 2020 season and re-signed with the Dodgers ahead of the 2021 season only to have it wiped out by Tommy John surgery. He also had an operation to remove a bone spur from his right elbow.

Stewart has been lighting up the radar gun this season at Triple-A with the Twins, throwing harder than he ever has in his career.

He'll join the first place Minnesota Twins along with old friends Joey Gallo and Kenta Maeda.

Congrats to Brock Star! Hopefully this is the beginning of the second part of his major league story.
