Former MLB relief pitcher Francisco Rodriguez Rick Osentoski-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier this offseason, former Brewers relief pitcher and closer Francisco Rodriguez became eligible for the Hall of Fame.  2023 is his first year on the ballot and he is starting to receive some votes.  K-Rod must be named on at least 5% of all ballots in order to remain eligible for a second year.  75% of votes is the ultimate target number in order to be elected into the Hall of Fame.

The most up to date ballot tracker is made possible by Ryan Thibodaux and a few others.  Their Hall of Fame ballot tracker can be found here

According to the votes made public, Francisco Rodriguez has currently received six Hall of Fame votes.

As it stands today, only 17% of the ballots are known.  An estimated 396 ballots were cast with just 62 of them being publicly announced.  The voters who put a check mark next to Francisco Rodriguez so far are Filip Bondy, Kevin Cooney, Art Davidson, Sadiel Lebron, and Mark Saxon.  K-Rod has also received one anonymous vote.

Rodriguez currently needs 14 more votes in order to get above 5%.  As mentioned, this would keep him on the Hall of Fame ballot in 2024. There are a lot of votes left, so K-Rod is off to a good start in regards to making the 5% threshold.
