Former New York Mets star Daniel Murphy is going to try his hand at broadcasting in 2024.
He's been added to the team's broadcast booth for a limited number of spring training games, per reports.

On Friday, the New York Post’s Mike Puma reported that former Mets second baseman Daniel Murphy has been added to the SNY roster as a spring training fill-in for (Keith) Hernandez and (Ron) Darling.
Citing sources, Puma reports that Murphy will be in the booth for at least two Grapefruit League games early in spring training.
Cohen, Hernandez, and Darling are each scheduled to work approximately five games, while Steve Gelbs and other analysts, like Murphy, will cover the remaining spring training broadcasts.
So, clearly, we could see more of Murphy in Port St. Lucie, but it's just not officially on the books yet.
Murphy, 38, last played in the 2020 season and attempted a comeback last season, but eventually retired in August.
He earned his stripes in the National League East where he played for the Mets from 2008-2015, helping them advance to the World Series in 2015, where they lost to the Royals. He was a career .288 hitter in seven seasons with the Mets and became a fan favorite.
After his tenure in New York, he signed a three-year deal with the Nationals. He became a two-time All-Star with Washington (2016-2017) and finished second in MVP voting in 2016. He hit .347 in 2016 and led the Major Leagues in doubles in both of those seasons.
He was traded in the latter stages of 2018 to the Cubs, where he hit .297 in 35 games. He then signed with Colorado after the 2018 season.
Murphy was a three-time All-Star in total who hit .296 for his career.
