Former Tennessee Vols baseball star Todd Helton is hoping to receive some good news on Tuesday evening.

The 17-year MLB veteran is currently trending toward Hall of Fame enshrinement.

This year's Hall of Fame class will be announced on Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM ET.

Helton, who spent his entire career with the Colorado Rockies, finished his illustrious career with a .316 average, 369 home runs, and 2,519 hits. He reached five all-star games and won three Gold Gloves while playing first base. Helton also won four straight Silver Slugger awards from 2000 to 2003.

The former Vol standout also played football at Tennessee and he was famously listed above Peyton Manning on UT's depth chart in 1994.

Manning was present at Helton's final career game at Coors Field.

Helton fell 11 votes short of enshrinement last year. But with a little over 50 percent of ballots revealed, Helton is polling at 82 percent. 75 percent is required to get into the Hall of Fame.
