Former Tennessee Vols baseball standout Trey Lipscomb was called up to the big leagues just after the start of the 2024 season and he's already making a big impact for the Washington Nationals.

Lipscomb, who is from Maryland, is hitting .265 with a home run and four stolen bases through his first nine career MLB games.

Three of those stolen bases came on Monday evening during a game against the San Francisco Giants, including a steal of home.

Lipscomb recorded three hits against the Giants on Monday, becoming the first Nationals rookie to ever record three hits and three stolen bases in a game.

The former Vol is also the first Nationals rookie to steal three bases in a game since the franchise relocated from Montreal to Washington D.C. in 2005.

It doesn't look like Lipscomb will be getting sent back to the minors anytime soon. It seems that he's carving out a nice role for himself on the Nationals' big league team.
