Former WVU baseball star Victor Scott II is being recognized for his great season. Scott was named one of the 2023 Minor League Baseball Rawlings Gold Glove winners.

Scott, a member of the Springfield Cardinals, became just the second player in the minor league system of the St. Louis Cardinals to earn the award since the honor was reintroduced for MiLB players in 2011.

This caps off an All-Star season for the former Mountaineer. It also wasn’t just about his defense. Scott did it all in 2023, excelling at the plate and on the base pads as well.

In his first full minor league season, Scott hit .303, crushed nine home runs, recorded 63 RBI, stole 94 bases and posted a .794 OPS. He was at top of MiLB in stolen bases throughout the season.

Watch Scott explain how he ended up spending his college days at WVU in the post below.
