The New York Mets beat the San Diego Padres on Friday night, 7-6, to run their impressive win streak to six games.

With the six-game winning streak, the Mets are now 42-46 on the year and they are just 6.5 games back in the National League wild card race.

At the forefront of the Mets win again was shortstop Francisco Lindor, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. He hit his 19th homer of the season and has done something over the last two games that has never been done in baseball history.

Per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Francisco Lindor of the @Mets is the only MLB player in the modern era to have 8+ hits, multiple triples, multiple homers and multiple steals over a 2-game span.

Lindor went 5-for-5 with two triples and a homer in Thursday's win over the Arizona Diamondbacks.

He's now hitting .239 on the season with 19 homers, 60 RBI and 13 stolen bases. While the overall average is low, he's hitting .364 over his last 15 games.

The 29-year-old is in his ninth year in the big leagues with the Cleveland Guardians and the Mets. He was traded to the Mets before the 2021 season after spending six years in Cleveland.

The Padres are now 41-47 after the loss. They trail the Mets in the wild card race by one game and are 7.5 back in total.

The two teams play again on Saturday at 10:10 p.m. ET.

Lefty David Peterson goes for the Mets against fellow lefty Blake Snell.
