After spending the last 12 years with the Atlanta Braves, Freddie Freeman is now literally a free man. As such, the possibility may be emerging for Freeman to sign with one particular MLB powerhouse this offseason.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported Saturday that the New York Yankees are expected to make a run at the former NL MVP Freeman. Heyman adds that all options are on the table for Freeman with the Braves failing to quickly re-sign him before the lockout began.

The Yankees are always loaded with talent, and that it is especially true right now with dynamic sluggers such as Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton already in their lineup. Meanwhile, Yankees star Anthony Rizzo, who hits lefty and plays first base just like Freeman, is a free agent. The Bombers have also shown interest in Freeman before.

Freeman, 32, is obviously a beloved, lifelong Brave and was a huge reason why they won the World Series last season. But if he wants to follow the money or strengthen his personal chances of winning back-to-back rings, the Yankees will be lurking (as will this fellow top contender).
