The White Sox will be without one of their lefty relievers for the next few weeks.

Garrett Crochet, who was placed on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to June 17), received a cortisone shot on Wednesday to treat the inflammation in his left shoulder. Dr. Verma, the team’s lead doctor, currently estimates that the southpaw will miss somewhere between 2-to-3 weeks, making it likely he returns sometime after the All-Star break.

Crochet, 24, is 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA (4 ER/10.0 IP) and nine strikeouts in 10 appearances this season since being reinstated from the injured list on May 16. He has already missed over a month this season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. For the next few weeks, the team will now have to rely on the combination of Aaron Bummer and Tanner Banks to provide a lefty presence out of the bullpen.

As we get additional information, we’ll continue to provide further updates.
